Too Tired for Therapy

Eli had PT with Karla at 2:00 pm....and he hadn't had a nap yet.
I wasn't sure how it was gonna go...I just figured he'd be really fussy.
She put his braces on to work on weight bearing in his arms while he kneels forward...and, he IMMEDIATELY fell asleep over her leg!!!
How precious is this?

Rolling...over and over and over...

Some of you thought this meant Eli is now crawling all over the house.
THAT IS NOT THE CASE. This, so far, is a one time deal.
He has learned he can roll over and over and over. But doesn't do it very often, and hasn't made it off his mat again, yet. Thanks for being so hopeful for him! Keep praying for him.
He'll be buzzing around someday...we hope. :)

Yeah.....Ummm......Where is Eli going?

This is how I found Eli this morning after his Daddy left for work.

He is realizing he can MOVE! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!

I thought he was going to pee on the tire! Dang, Dog! :)

IF YOU ARE READING MY BLOG - PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS SO I KNOW I AM NOT JUST TYPING TO MYSELF! :-)~ You don't have to have a blogger account or gmail address to do so...so please...comment away! Thanks!

PAULINE - thank you so much for being the only person who regularly leaves me comments so I know I am actually being read. :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bought Eli this fun t-shirt from Old Navy online.
(Love their bargain prices!!!)

Me and Eli...wearing our green for the fabulous SP day!
(I have always loved St. Patrick's Day! It means Spring! I love green. And my BD is exactly one month way! ok...when I was a kid I loved that part...now I'm freakin' out about turning another year older. Forty is just around the bend...Omigosh!)

I attended my dear friend Cheryl's funeral that day. It was a wonderful service. The highlight for me was when her brother read the last entry in her journal:

"God,
Thank you for my life. Thank you for filling my world with people who love me. Bless my family and friends. Help them to find happiness and contentment. Help me to live my life in Your path, so that I can be a witness to those I love. Give me the wisdom to listen with love and to help when I can. And most of all, give me the courage to always share Your love with others so that we all may be together for eternity. Amen."

Farewell to a Friend

Cheryl and Amy - Halloween 1999 at Gasseling's Farm

My dear friend, and Sorority Sister, Cheryl Walker passed away this morning after a very long and courageous battle with breast and brain cancer.
I'll never forget all the wonderful sorority trips we took together, so many sorority memories, and our rubberstamping/crafting addiction. :)
I'll miss you my friend.

Burette Feeding Container

THIS POST IS FOR ALL MY PARENT-2-PARENT ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP FRIENDS:

I use this 4 oz Burette to hold Eli's formula for his Day Feeds.
He never takes more than 5 oz of food at one time, so I use a syringe for one ounce and use the Burette for the other four. I like using the pump for feeds, because it gives a slow even flow of food in the given amount of time....and doesn't overwhelm is tummy.
I only use a bag at night. I hated washing those bags out after every feed....and after a hospital stay where they used Burettes...I asked our Dietician if I could start getting those for home. (One of those things they don't tell you about...but if you ask you might get it)
So, this is what we've been using for a long time. They last a couple weeks, if you rinse them well (especially the chamber) after each use.
I hope most of your kids eat more in one setting than mine can....but if you think this would work for you...I HIGHLY recommend them! :)
Thanks for looking,
Amy

4:07 am

Yup. You read that correctly. Today, Eli woke up at 4:07 am!

I tried to keep him awake later last night - all the way until 7:00 pm! (He's been wanting to eat around 6:45...but I now realize this is not a good schedule.) Duh!?

He went right to sleep when I fed him dinner. I was hoping that would help him sleep later.
Apparently, I'm asking for the moon here!??? LOL! 7 pm to 5 am (his normal wakeup time) is 10 hours. Is that typical for a 2 1/2 year old to sleep at night? Is it already time to start getting less sleep? This is one active little Yahoo all day...doesn't he need this 10 hour down time?

4:07 - I get up to turn his pump off. Stupid me, I actually touch him to reposition him a little bit, so I can give him his water flush....and boing! He's awake and rockin' and rollin'.

I put him in bed with me....and he would not settle down. Then he pooped.
Ok, then.

4:29 - Out to the living room to change his diaper.

Of course, Lonnie usually gets up at 4 am to go work out. But this week, he has to have asthma and sinus issues going on....so he's not going to work out. Isn't that just perfect Murphy's Law? So, here I sit, tired as hell...sick of getting up when there is a 4 at the beginning of the clock readout! Lon will get up within the hour....and then I'll go back to bed for a litle bit....

I'm counting the minutes.....

On Daddy's Shoulder

This picture was taken Friday night, 02.29.08. I just LOVE it.

Ok, so Eli slept in until 4:30 am today! This is NOT working for me, kid! LOL!
What's up? I think I'm now counting down the days until the Spring Forward time change!
I sure hope that helps things?

Ok...back to bed for me...Dad's on duty now....

Oh, What a Night!

Well....last night Eli decides to wake up "rockin' and rollin'" at Midnight. Luckily I quickly got him back to sleep in bed with us. Lon wakes me up an hour later...and I successfully transferred Eli back to his crib, and plugged his night feed back in.
When Lon's alarm went off at 4:00, I got up and unplugged Eli (since the pump usually runs until his feeding bag is empty.)
He normally wakes up around 5 am, and I like to let his food digest a while before he wakes up. Well, he decided to make the night even MORE special...by waking up at 4:20! Very uncomfortable....body moving like he's got ants in his pants. Poor guy.
I took him out to the living room, and gave him Tylenol. Hopefully, he starts to feel better soon.
I heard some gas in his tummy...may it work itself out of the body very quickly!

Ok, back to bed for me....it's Lon's turn to hang out with Eli now. :)

Eli's New Haircut

My boy was waaaaay overdue for a haircut...so I finally took him in last Tuesday. Then my great-nephew was born that day...and has taken over my blog. LOL!
So, finally, I am posting pictures of the clean-cut Eli.
If you go back and pay attention in the videos I recently posted...you'll see the bird's nest that had taken over his head! :)

He's home from the hospital, and doing well. I just can't wait to go meet him!

So, THAT'S what a 6 pound baby looks like, eh?
TINY! (As most of you know, my 10 lb 5 oz boy came out wearing 3-6 month clothing! LOL)

VIDEO - Eli Smiling & Laughing

Just took this video this morning. Eli was happy and laughing and I want you all to see him in action. The bronco video last week doesn't show his HAPPY PERSONALITY!

When he feels good...he is the funniest guy! :)

I know some of you still have dial-up, and my adding videos slows down my blog...so I'll be careful about how many I add...and I'll delete old one's as I add new....to keep in at a minimum.

Let me know if it creates too many problems for any of you...by adding a comment in the Comments Section. Thanks!

VIDEO - of Eli watching the Little Einsteins

Here is a video, taken today, while Eli was in his Bronco, eating his "afternoon snack" (that's what I call his 3:30 feed). He watches his DVD player (which sits on the coffee table) while he eats. Thought you might like to see him in "action" instead of just another still shot picture.

Eli Standing

The newest contraption in our house...
a Stander!

Eli is doing very well in it.

It's great for his bones, and joints, and vestibular input. This is a loaner...we have to decide if we want this kind or not...before we order one.
